Discussion question: Ask pupils to talk about a time when they felt they were RESILIENT in their decision making. Ask questions around when they have had to be RESILIENT in different environments. e.g. home, at school or making a decision that was difficult, within a group.
Active learning: Children will play a game of North, East, South and West using the 4 sides of the hall. Shout out a direction and children must run to the side you shout out as fast as they can!
Discussion question: What does RESILIENCE mean? In pairs or small groups ask pupils to write down some ideas and tell them they will revisit the flip chart at the end of the lesson.
Use a selection of challenge cards (8-10 depending on the group size).
Split the children into small groups and place each group on a station with a visual resource card. Ask the children to solve the problem on the card within a time frame set by the teacher. Rotate the children to enable them to access all stations over the course of the lesson.
