Main Activity
Mix and match activity: Print out and cut out the cards on slide 5. There should be 18 small cards in total. Split the children into small groups and provide them with a copy of these cards and ask them to match up the activity with the body part it’s working. Compare the answers as a whole class.
Move like an animal activity: Using a practical space ask pupils to move around the room in different ways using the examples on slide 6. Play some jungle book or lion king music during the activity. Recap body parts with the class and how we can move them in different ways.
Favourite activities: Working in small groups ask pupils to talk about their favourite activities. Pupils must act out their favourite activities in a sequence and show it to the rest of the class or another group to guess.
Plenary
60 minutes a day: Print out the grid on slide 9. Ask pupils to draw pictures in each square to show how they can do 60 minutes of exercise a day. It can be anything from walking to school to playing in the garden.
Reflection time: Recap the lesson with the class. Ask pupils what 3 things they have learnt today.
