Starter Activity
Introduce the session with the lesson objectives.
Explain what being healthy means to the class.
Circle activity – Pupils take it in turns to talk about ways they can be healthy. E.g. I can be healthy by keeping fit. Carry on the circle time using the following questions.
What fruits did you eat today?
What vegetables do you like to eat?
How did you move your body today?
How much water do you drink every day?
What games have you played outside today?
Main Activity
Word sort activity - Print out sets of the word and picture cards on slide 2. In pairs pupils must sort the cards into two groups – healthy and unhealthy habits.
Charades – In small groups pupils must choose a healthy or unhealthy habit to act out. The remainder of the group must guess what it is and pupils can swap over.
I can be healthy by…. Print out slide 3 for each pupil. They must draw or paint a picture of all the ways they can be healthy.
