Starter Activity
Introduce the session with the lesson objectives.
Video: Show the class the video about friendships.
Explain what relationships are and using slide 4.
Group discussion: Ask pupils to discuss why we form relationships. Invite pupils to share their answers and talk through the examples on slide 6.
Main Activity
Explain that relationships can benefit our health using slide 7.
Group activity: Ask pupils to partner up with someone they wouldn’t normally, and they must give each other positive comments and discuss their hobbies and interests with each other. Encourage them to maintain eye contact and remember the details of the conversation they’ve had.
Explain that there are lots of ways to form new relationships with people using slide 9. Talk through slides 10 - 12 about why it’s important to have friends.
Activity: A friend who…Ask pupils to write down which friend can support them with each statement on slide 13. Ask pupils to share their answers with a partner.

Encourage pupils to always try to make and maintain their friendships and relationships with people.
