Lesson activities
Starter Activity
Introduce the session with the lesson objectives.
Video: Show the class the video about role models.
Group discussion: Ask pupils to discuss if they have a role model, who it is and why. Ask children to stand up and discuss this with the group.
Main Activity
Explain what self-esteem is using slides 8, 9, 10 and 11.
Group activity: Pass the positivity. Sit children in a circle and going clockwise around the circle, tell the person to your left something positive about them! See slide 12.
Group activity: Stick Man. Give each child a piece of paper and ask them to draw a stickman. Around this stickman they will write down any happy and positive things that people would say about them. See slide 16.
Explain that it’s OK to feel sad and why we may feel sad using slides 13 and 14.
Explain why we should set goals, using slides 18 and 19.

Encourage pupils to always try to set smart goals.
Encourage pupils to believe in their own ability.
Encourage pupils to self-reflect and improve themselves.
Reflection time: Ask pupils to think about 3 things they have learnt today and what they will do differently in the future.
