Lesson activities
Starter Activity
Introduce the session with the lesson objectives.
Group activity: Ask pupils to work in groups and explain what anger is. Invite pupils to share their ideas with the class.
Talk and explain what anger and bad behavior is using slides 4 and 5.
Ask the class if they ever feel low and explain what it means and reinforce the message that it ‘is okay not to be okay’.
Main Activity
Groups discussion: Ask pupils to explain why they get angry. Initiate a whole class discussion about what makes pupils angry.
Role plays: Working in small groups ask pupils to work through the situations displayed on slide 10. Invite pupils to act out their role play to the class.
Group discussion: Ask pupils to discuss how they can control their anger. Gain feedback from each group and create a list on the board.
Talk through the top tips to control anger on slide 12.
Plenary
Remind pupils to be kind to themselves and to never be afraid to ask for help. Talk through who they could ask for help or support using slide 14.
Recap the lesson and ask pupils to talk about 3 things they have learnt and what they will do differently from now on.
